Heavy Rain Floods Homes in Türkiye’s Bodrum, Car Swept Into Sea

Heavy rainfall has caused flooding in nine neighborhoods in Bodrum, in southwestern Türkiye’s Muğla Province, inundating 17 homes and three commercial properties.

One vehicle was swept into the sea, TRT Haber reports.

Rainfall reached 46 kilograms per square meter. In the Mazı neighborhood, rising water levels in the Hurma stream carried a car into the sea. Rescue teams have launched an operation to retrieve the vehicle.

In Yalıkavak, water accumulating on roads caused several traffic accidents. A car also overturned, while a retaining wall collapsed.

Municipal and emergency crews are working to pump out floodwater and clear stream channels. Rainfall is continuing across the area.
