Israeli Air Force strikes hit the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh, completely destroying the building of the House of Russian Culture.
Founded in 2004, the House of Russian Culture occupied the first floor of a five-story building and served as a social and cultural hub for graduates of Russian universities and Russian-speaking residents across southern Lebanon, The Caspian Post reports via foreign media.
Director of House of Russian Culture Asaad Dia explained:
"We ran Russian language courses, music, dance, and art classes for children. We had a hall where we hosted Russian-Lebanese friendship events and concerts."
The House had suffered damage during the 2024 conflict, but repairs were delayed to prioritize assistance for families affected by Israeli attacks. Diya added that renovation had only recently been completed, and the community was pleased with the results before the latest destruction.
