Major Fire Traps People in Northern Moscow Building

A fire has broken out in northern Moscow, Russia, engulfing part of a building that houses an auto service center with a hostel located on the upper floors.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after reports that people were trapped inside and unable to escape, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

The blaze erupted at a facility in 1st Magistralny Tupik, with preliminary information indicating that the fire spread across the fourth floor, where the hostel is located.

People Trapped, Some Consider Jumping to Escape

Eyewitnesses described dramatic scenes as people inside the burning building called for help and attempted desperate measures to survive. Some reportedly threw mattresses out of windows in preparation to jump from the fourth floor to safety.

At least ten people were believed to be inside at the time of the fire, raising fears of possible injuries or casualties.

Emergency Crews Rescue Several Victims

Firefighters and rescue teams quickly arrived and launched evacuation efforts. Authorities confirmed that at least seven people had already been rescued from the building.

Emergency responders continue searching the premises and assist those still trapped, while the number of injured remains unclear.
