Passengers at Sheremetyevo Airport in Russia's capital Moscow have been forced to sleep on floor mats and moving walkways amid widespread flight delays and cancellations caused by drone threats.
Video circulating on social media shows travelers resting on the airport floor as disruptions continue to affect air traffic across the Russian capital’s airports, according to ostorozhno moskva.
Authorities temporarily closed airports due to the threat of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks. Flight schedules are now being adjusted, with some services postponed or canceled.
According to official figures, 403 drones were heading toward the Moscow region from the evening of October 9, prompting aviation disruptions.
Passengers have faced uncertainty as airlines and airport authorities work to revise flight schedules.
