Newly released photographs show significant damage to Northern Bridge in Ukraine's capital Kyiv following a missile strike on November 7, with images from the scene revealing a hole several meters wide through the roadway.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko visited the bridge following the incident and confirmed that traffic had been completely suspended in both directions, according to aif.ru.

The Northern Bridge was struck by Russian forces on November 7. Russia's Defense Ministry said the infrastructure facility had been used to transport weapons, as well as military and specialized equipment intended for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The damage has forced the complete closure of the bridge, affecting traffic across this major transport link in the Ukrainian capital.
