In a recent phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reaffirmed Türkiye’s support for initiatives aimed at securing a lasting and inclusive peace in Ukraine.
Erdoğan also emphasized that he has been closely monitoring developments in the peace process and reaffirmed that Türkiye has consistently pursued a fair and just resolution since the outset of the conflict, The Caspian Post reports via foreign media.
Türkiye and Russia have developed a multifaceted relationship encompassing energy, trade, tourism, and defense. Russia is a key supplier of natural gas to Türkiye, and both countries have collaborated on major energy projects.
In the political and security spheres, Türkiye and Russia often coordinate on regional issues.
The bilateral relationship is also underpinned by growing trade and tourism exchanges, with Türkiye being a popular destination for Russian tourists and Russian investments in Türkiye increasing steadily.
