Russia Strikes Ukraine's Lviv with High-Speed Missile

Russia launched a high-speed ballistic missile at Ukraine’s Lviv city.

The missile reportedly traveled at about 13,000 kilometers per hour, though its exact type is still under investigation, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

The Ukrainian Air Force’s West Air Command said the attack targeted infrastructure facilities and assured that all air defense units remain on high alert to repel Russian strikes and protect the country.

Explosions shook Lviv, with authorities confirming damage to a critical infrastructure site. Fire crews were dispatched to contain the resulting blaze.

Yurii Ihnat, head of communications for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, noted that the missile was likely launched from the Kapustin Yar training ground in Russia. It remains unclear whether the weapon used was an Oreshnik missile.

The strike marks another escalation in ongoing attacks on Ukrainian cities amid the conflict.
