At least 26 people have been killed in Russian airstrikes on the settlement of Komyshuvakha in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region on November 2, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president said that the first bombs struck a school in the morning. The building was being used as a distribution point for humanitarian aid, according to Zelenskyy's message on Telegram.
A subsequent strike hit the area, including a shelter where people had gathered.
"Most of the victims of this Russian attack were civilians who had come to receive humanitarian aid, as well as those who arrived to help them after the first strike. The Russians knew that this was effectively a humanitarian facility. It is important that the world responds to this," Zelenskyy said.
