Russian businessman and former member of the Federation Council Umar Dzhabrailov reportedly died by suicide in a hotel in Moscow.
Initially, Dzhabrailov was hospitalized under unknown identity in critical condition. Hotel security later confirmed his identity. He was 67 years old, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
Past Health Struggles
In April 2020, Dzhabrailov was hospitalized after sustaining injuries. His driver called emergency services, and prior to the arrival of medical personnel, the businessman attempted to stop the bleeding himself.
Notable Career and Assets
Dzhabrailov served as a member of the Russian Federation Council from 2004 to 2009. In January 2025, it was reported that his Moscow residence was sold for 1.2 billion rubles.
