Russian Drone Strike Damages High-Rise in Ukraine’s Odesa

A Russian drone strike has hit a residential high-rise building in Ukraine’s Odesa Region, prompting the evacuation of dozens of residents.

Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said that strike drones targeted civilian areas. One drone struck an apartment building between the 18th and 19th floors, damaging the facade and windows and also affecting cars parked nearby, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

Emergency services evacuated 58 residents, including eight children, from the building. Authorities said there were no immediate reports of casualties, while damage assessments are ongoing. Rescue and inspection teams remain on site.

Officials added that Russian forces continue to carry out frequent drone attacks on the Odesa region. Recent strikes have damaged residential buildings, industrial facilities, and energy infrastructure. Earlier this week, drone attacks sparked fires and injured at least one civilian.

Local services are continuing cleanup operations as they monitor the situation for potential further threats.
