A Russian drone strike has caused extensive damage to a school and surrounding residential areas in Ukraine’s city of Sumy.
The Ukrainian State Emergency Service said that the attack occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. (GMT+3) on September 11, when enemy drones struck the grounds of a local school, igniting a fire and partially destroying the building, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

Emergency responders swiftly extinguished the blaze and conducted an assessment of the site, confirming that the blast also damaged nearby vehicles and apartment blocks. Photos and videos released by authorities showed shattered windows and fire damage at the school.
The Sumy Regional Military Administration later confirmed that the drones targeted the Zarichnyi district, impacting both residential areas and the school.
