Russian Leader Explores Priorities in CIS Relations at Security Council Meeting

Russian President Vladimir Putin has held a meeting with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council to discuss cooperation with members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

President Putin’s plans to hold a meeting with members of the Security Council were outlined by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov during a briefing, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

Peskov said that the participants will also discuss preparations for the president’s upcoming official trip.

During the visit, President Putin is expected to travel to China to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. In addition, he will visit Vladivostok to take part in a plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
