A morning drone strike has hit the center of Chernihiv, Ukraine, where a Russian Shahed-type UAV damaged an administrative building.
Air defense systems were activated as drones approached the city, with warnings issued shortly before the attack. Despite interception efforts, one drone struck a government building in a central district housing key offices, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.
Officials confirmed there were no injuries, but the blast caused notable destruction:
Windows shattered in the targeted building
Doors and structural elements damaged
Nearby residential buildings also affected, with broken windows reported
Chernihiv has faced repeated drone and missile strikes in recent days, with infrastructure frequently targeted.
Ukrainian defense officials warn that Russian forces are increasingly deploying evolving drone tactics aimed at overwhelming air defense systems.
Emergency crews are currently working at the scene, assessing damage and securing the area as concerns over continued attacks remain high.
