A schoolgirl reportedly attacked a teacher with a knife at a school in Kansk, Krasnoyarsk region, in an incident that left seven people injured.

The incident occurred at School No. 2 in Kansk shortly before a school assembly. According to preliminary reports, a seventh-grade pupil first sprayed the teacher with pepper spray before attacking her with a knife, according to ASTRA.

The situation was reportedly stopped after the mother of one of the pupils intervened and pushed the attacker into the corridor. The planned school assembly was subsequently canceled.

Later reports said seven people were injured in the incident, including five children and two adults.

According to the Krasnoyarsk Region Health Ministry, all seven injured people were taken to medical facilities. The victims were subsequently released for outpatient treatment.

All relevant emergency and response services were working at the scene.
