Military Training Helicopter Crashes in Türkiye's Ankara, One Soldier Dies

A military training helicopter crashed on the outskirts of Türkiye's capital, Ankara, leaving one serviceman dead and another injured.

The R-44 training helicopter went down in the Temelli area of Sincan district, prompting an immediate response from emergency and rescue teams, The Caspian Post reports via Halk.

Initial reports said two military personnel were injured in the crash. Later, Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gürlek announced that one of the injured servicemen had died from his injuries.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash.

Officials also confirmed that the helicopter belonged to Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), one of Türkiye's leading aerospace and defense companies.

Emergency services and investigators continue to work at the crash site as authorities seek to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
