Turkish Leader Rules Out Early Vote, Sticks to 2028 Election Timeline

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has firmly ruled out the possibility of snap presidential elections, stating that the next vote will be held as scheduled in 2028.

The announcement came during a meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), where Erdoğan addressed recent speculation surrounding the country’s electoral timeline, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

“Presidential and parliamentary elections will take place in 2028, while municipal elections in 2029,” Erdoğan declared.
