Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has departed for Kazakhstan to participate in the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, where leaders are set to focus on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and regional cooperation.
The Uzbek president is expected to attend the summit on May 15 in Turkistan, a historic city increasingly positioned as a spiritual and political center of the Turkic world, The Caspian Post reports via Sputnik Uzbekistan.
According to officials, the meeting will center on the theme of “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development,” with participating leaders discussing ways to strengthen multilateral cooperation in trade, investment, transport, communications, and environmental initiatives.
The summit agenda will also include talks on expanding digital infrastructure, introducing innovative technologies, and promoting the practical use of artificial intelligence across member states.
Delegation heads are additionally expected to exchange views on key regional and international issues affecting the Turkic region.
The event is set to conclude with the adoption of the Turkistan Declaration, a document expected to outline new directions for cooperation among Turkic nations.
