Türkiye’s Ankara to Shine as 2026 Tourism Capital of the Turkic World

Ankara has been officially named the Tourism Capital of the Turkic World for 2026, following a decision made at the 10th Meeting of Culture and Tourism Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

The high-level meeting, currently underway in the Turkish capital, is being hosted by Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and brings together ministers and senior tourism officials from across the Turkic world to discuss cultural cooperation and regional tourism development, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

The designation of Ankara as the next tourism capital underscores the city’s growing importance as a cultural hub and its expanding role in promoting Turkic heritage and unity.

Representing Azerbaijan at the meeting is Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, who is participating in discussions aimed at strengthening tourism ties among OTS member states.
