Türkiye’s Istanbul Poised to Host Third Round of Russia-Ukraine Talks Soon

A third round of negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian delegations may take place in Türkiye's Istanbul on July 23 or 24.

Diplomatic sources say the upcoming talks are expected to be technical, focusing on a limited range of issues, including the establishment of humanitarian corridors, prisoner exchanges, protection of critical infrastructure, and border security measures, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Rustem Umerov as Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, tasking him with revitalizing negotiations with Russia.

On July 16, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia is urging all involved parties to put pressure on Ukraine to proceed with new direct talks.

At the same time, President Zelenskyy confirmed that arms deliveries to Kyiv have resumed but reiterated that no official negotiations with Russia are currently planned.

The second round of talks between Moscow and Kyiv took place in Türkiye on June 2.
