Ukraine's Defense Forces carried out a series of strikes on key Russian military and energy infrastructure, targeting an oil refinery, a strategic air base, a fuel depot, and a drone operations site deep inside Russian territory.

One of the main targets was the Saratov oil refinery in Russia's Saratov region, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

Ukrainian officials said the facility was hit, triggering a fire. The refinery is one of the largest in Russia's Volga region, with an annual processing capacity of around 7 million metric tons, and is described by Kyiv as an important supplier of fuel for Russia's military-industrial complex.

Ukrainian forces also reported striking Engels airfield, another strategic target in the Saratov region. A fire was reported after the attack. The base is home to Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers that Russia has used in long-range missile attacks against Ukraine.

Another reported target was the Lyudinovskaya oil depot in Russia's Kaluga region. According to the Ukrainian military, the facility stores fuel and lubricants used to support Russian military operations.

Ukraine also said it hit a site near Navlya in Russia's Bryansk region that was used to store, prepare, and launch attack drones.
