Representatives from the customs services of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan held a field meeting at the "Navoi" customs checkpoint.
The parties discussed ways to address growing traffic congestion at border crossings between the two countries, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
An agreement was reached to deploy additional personnel and resources to swiftly clear the congestion.
Furthermore, due to the low volume of outbound passenger traffic at the "Navoi" checkpoint, a temporary reverse traffic flow was arranged to allow passenger vehicles to enter Uzbekistan through this post.
According to the Customs Committee, the measures taken have completely resolved the congestion at this checkpoint.
