Vehicle Erupts in Moscow Parking Lot

A car has exploded in western Moscow, Russia, triggering an emergency response near a high-profile administrative facility.

The blast occurred in the Mozhaysky district, reportedly in a parking lot near an administrative building on Ryabinovaya Street, The Caspian Post reprots via Russian media.

Preliminary information indicates the vehicle exploded at the premises of the Main Research Computing Center, a federal state enterprise under the Administrative Directorate of the President of Russia. The center is responsible for high-tech IT support for the head of state, the government, and top state agencies.

Witnesses said the Mercedes ML350 first began emitting smoke before an explosion occurred inside the vehicle. At the time of the blast, no one was reportedly inside the car, which had been parked in the lot. The explosion shattered the vehicle’s windows.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident. As of now, there is no official information regarding the cause of the explosion or possible casualties.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the blast.
