A forest fire in Türkiye’s Antalya province has continued for a second day, forcing at least 720 people to evacuate their homes.

Evacuations have been carried out in four settlements across the Aksu and Kepez districts, The Caspian Post reports, citing the İhlas News Agency (İHA).

In Aksu, 25 residents from 10 houses in Karaoz were evacuated. In Yumak, 105 people from 29 homes, as well as livestock from 18 enclosures, were moved to safety. Another 151 residents from 40 houses were evacuated in Yeşilkaraman.

In the neighboring Kepez district, 439 residents from 175 houses in Çamlıca were also evacuated.

The wildfire, which has spread across a wide area of Karaoz in Aksu, is being fought with three firefighting aircraft, nine helicopters and extensive ground crews.

A total of 1,037 personnel, 165 fire engines and 112 units of additional equipment have been deployed to battle the blaze. Firefighting teams from Konya, Isparta and Burdur are also assisting, along with municipal and forestry services from the three provinces.
