Doctors at a private hospital in Türkiye reportedly operated on the wrong ear, leaving a patient with pain and ringing in his ears.

The man had gone to the hospital for a planned operation on his right ear. However, after waking from general anesthesia, he experienced severe pain in his left ear, according to ntv.com.tr.

He immediately informed the medical staff, who reportedly acknowledged that a mistake had been made. Surgeons then decided to perform the intended operation again.

Both procedures were carried out under general anesthesia, meaning the patient underwent anesthesia twice in a single day - a situation that can carry additional risks.

The man now says he is experiencing persistent noise and ringing in his ears. He has contacted the local health authorities and hopes they will launch an investigation into the incident.
