In response to recent comments made by Russian President Vladimir Putin about securing the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, said on Saturday that all Afghan borders, including the one with Tajikistan, are fully secured, The Caspian Post informs via The Kabul Times.
Speaking to TOLOnews, Mujahid stated: “The Islamic Emirate pays special attention to the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border. Not only is it secure, but it is under tighter surveillance compared to other border areas.”
President Putin had recently expressed concern over regional security and called for enhancing security along the Afghanistan-Tajikistan frontier, citing it as a potential route for instability to spread into Central Asia.
Mujahid, however, reassured that there is no threat emerging from Afghanistan’s side. “The Afghan soil is not being used against any neighboring country. We have ensured border stability and will continue to do so.”
The IEA has repeatedly emphasized its commitment to maintaining peaceful relations with all neighboring countries, especially in light of growing regional cooperation and cross-border economic initiatives.
