Russia, Tajikistan Boost Trade Ties With New Agricultural Export Venture

Russia and Tajikistan are deepening economic cooperation after launching a new joint enterprise aimed at expanding Tajik agricultural exports to the Russian market.

According to the Russian trade mission in Tajikistan, the newly established company, “TadjRosExport” will coordinate centralized deliveries of agricultural products from Tajikistan to Russia with direct support from Russian trade authorities, The Caspian Post reports via Sputnik Tajikistan.

One of the founders of the venture is the state-owned enterprise “Tajagropromexport,” which operates under Tajikistan’s Export Agency. The project is designed to create a stable export system covering product collection, quality control, sorting, packaging, and logistics.

The partnership will strengthen cooperation between regional producers and exporters across Tajikistan, helping ensure uninterrupted agricultural supplies to Russia.

The first shipment of Tajik cherries is expected to arrive in Russia within days, marking the beginning of the initiative’s export operations.

Plans for the joint venture and an agro-logistics center were first announced earlier this year as part of broader efforts to increase agricultural trade between the two countries.

Russia remains one of Tajikistan’s largest trading partners. Bilateral trade exceeded $2.47 billion in 2025, up nearly 25% compared to 2024. Russian exports mainly included petroleum products, food, and machinery, while Tajikistan supplied agricultural goods and textiles.
