Six athletes from Tajikistan will compete at the prestigious Tokyo Grand Slam 2025 on December 6-7 in Japan, one of the biggest stops on the World Judo Tour.
The event features 324 judokas from 43 countries, including Tajikistan’s national team, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.
Tajik competitors include Obid Jebov and Musanif Mirobov (-66 kg), Somon Mahmadbekov and Behrouz Khojazoda (-81 kg), Mizrobsho Loiqov (-90 kg), and Muhsin Malayev (-100 kg).
The tournament offers a 154,000 euro-prize pool, with top medals awarding ranking points crucial for Olympic qualification and global standings. For Tajik judokas, the Tokyo Grand Slam is a key milestone to enhance their international ranking and gain valuable competition experience.
