Tajik, French Leaders Discuss Climate, Cooperation During New York Meeting

Wrapping up his official visit to New York, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a bilateral meeting with President of France Emmanuel Macron, according to the official website of the President of Tajikistan.

The meeting focused on ways to further strengthen the Tajikistan-France relations and to expand cooperation within international and multilateral frameworks. Both leaders expressed their commitment to fostering joint action on global challenges, The Caspian Post reports per Tajik media.

Special emphasis was placed on cooperation in water resource management and climate change mitigation, areas where Tajikistan and France have demonstrated strong leadership on the world stage. The two presidents discussed advancing joint initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development and environmental resilience.

The leaders also exchanged views on a broad range of mutual interests, signaling growing political and economic dialogue between Dushanbe and Paris.

The discussions were also aimed at enhancing bilateral synergy and reinforcing cooperation within multilateral institutions to achieve shared international goals.
