Tajik President to Attend Second World Summit on Social Development in Qatar

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has departed for Qatar to take part in the Second World Summit on Social Development.

The summit, which is being held in Doha from November 4-6, 2025, will gather world leaders, international organizations, civil society, and the private sector to discuss key global issues including poverty reduction, decent work, social inclusion, and sustainable development, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

The event aims to reaffirm the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development and accelerate progress toward the UN 2030 Agenda.

Following his visit to Qatar, President Rahmon will travel to Washington, D.C., at the invitation of US President Donald Trump, to attend the “Central Asia-US” (C5+1) leaders’ summit on November 6.

The C5+1 format, launched in 2015, brings together the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan to discuss regional security, economic growth, and energy cooperation.
