Tajik President Unveils Five-Star Crowne Plaza in Dushanbe

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, together with Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali, officially opened the five-star Crowne Plaza Dushanbe hotel and an adjoining business center in the capital’s Sino district.

According to official reports, the multifunctional complex features two high-rise towers: a 20-story luxury hotel and an 18-story commercial building, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

The project was launched in September 2019, when President Rahmon laid the foundation stone on Nizami Ganjavi Street along the Luchob River.

The Crowne Plaza Dushanbe offers 124 rooms, including a 260-square-meter VIP apartment, 34 suites, 30 junior suites, and 59 standard rooms, with a total capacity of 150 guests. Facilities include three restaurants, cafés, a banquet hall for 150 people, a beauty salon, cinema, swimming pool, fitness center, and conference halls named after Tajik cities, designed to host high-level events.

The hotel currently employs 150 professionals, with plans to expand to 200. Staff are predominantly multilingual specialists in hospitality and customer service. During construction, 400 local workers were employed, contributing to both job creation and skills development.

Developed by the Tajik company Elit-Stroy-Service LLC in collaboration with international experts, the 1.18-hectare complex is managed under a 20-year agreement with London-based InterContinental Hotels Group, effective since July 2023.

Blending modern architecture with traditional Tajik design elements, the hotel has been described as a new landmark in Dushanbe. Two underground levels house parking for 100 vehicles and technical facilities.

The adjacent 18-story business center offers contemporary office space, with administrative offices occupying the lower eight floors and business offices located on the upper levels. The center has created an additional 100 permanent jobs and was built in line with the city’s redevelopment strategy.

Officials noted that the project is part of Dushanbe’s modernization efforts and forms a key element of development initiatives marking the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence.
