On July 15, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and Qatar held political consultations, according to a report from Tajikistan's Foreign Ministry.
The Tajik side was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Farrukh Sharifzoda, and the Qatar side was led by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al-Murayhi, The Caspian Post reports citing AKIpress.
During the consultations, the sides discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral and multilateral relations in the political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
They emphasized that diplomatic ties between the two countries continue to strengthen and provide a solid foundation for expanding cooperation across various sectors.
Special attention was given to the issue of attracting Qatari investments into Tajikistan's economy, particularly in infrastructure and energy sectors.
The parties also considered topical issues on the international and regional agenda. Among the key topics of the talks are security, countering terrorism and extremism, climate change, food and water security, as well as strengthening cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international and regional organizations.
