Tajikistan's Dushanbe city has imposed a ban on the use of electric scooters and other personal mobility vehicles until the year 2030, according to a decision by the Dushanbe City People’s Deputies Assembly.
The measure is intended to advance urban safety and regulate traffic flow, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
The city administration says the prohibition seeks to reduce the number of road accidents involving these devices, minimize disruptions to vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and safeguard the rights of all road users. Officials added that the ban will remain in force until the necessary infrastructure is established to support the safe operation of such transport modes.
