Tajikistan’s Population Tops 10.6 Million in Mid-2025

The population of Tajikistan has exceeded 10.6 million as of July 1, 2025.

Statistics show that during the first six months of 2025, the country’s population grew by 2.1 per cent, The Caspian Post reports per Tajik media.

The natural population increase from January to June, compared to the same period in 2024, reached 98,900 people, equivalent to 18.8 per 1,000 residents.

Civil registration offices recorded 116,200 births and 17,200 deaths in the first half of the year, including 800 infants under one year old. Preliminary estimates indicate that the crude birth rate and crude death rate were 22.1 and 3.3 per 1,000 people, respectively.

The number of registered births in the first six months of 2025 rose by 2.1 per cent compared to the same period in 2024, reflecting continued demographic growth in the country.
