Tajikistan’s flagship carrier, Somon Air, is preparing to expand its fleet with new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft set to arrive this summer.
The airline expects deliveries in July and August following a meeting between Somon Air’s leadership and a delegation from Boeing to discuss key aspects of integrating the aircraft into operations, The Caspian Post reports, citing Khovar.
According to the airline’s press service, the discussions centered on “operational excellence,” a broad initiative aimed at improving efficiency and bringing the carrier’s operations in line with international standards.
The addition of the modern aircraft is expected to improve passenger services, support the expansion of Somon Air’s route network, and strengthen the airline’s position in Central Asia’s civil aviation market.
