Tajikistan Set to Increase Aluminum Output by 26% in 2025

Tajikistan plans to produce 108,000 tonnes of primary aluminum this year, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies.

This would be 25.6% more than the 86,000 tonnes the country produced in 2024, The Caspian Post reports citing Interfax.

The ministry said OJSC Tajik Aluminum Company or Talco produced 82,200 tonnes of aluminum last year. It and machine-building, defense and chemical industry enterprises industries exported products worth $148.7 million, which is $38.6 million more than in 2023. Most of the exports went to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and European countries.

Aluminum processing inside Tajikistan rose 22.5% in 2024 to 18,860 tonnes.

The wholly state-owned Talco smelter was registered in 2007. Built in 1975, it used to be known as Tadaz and is capable of producing 517,000 tonnes of aluminum per year.
