Tajikistan Sets Out Five-Year Strategy to Boost Tourism

Tajikistan has adopted the 2027-2031 Domestic Tourism Development Program as part of efforts to develop the tourism sector and increase visitor numbers.

The draft resolution on the program was considered at a government meeting, The Caspian Post reports, citing Khovar.

The program is designed to establish goals, priorities and key directions for the sustainable development of domestic tourism.

It aims to improve the quality of the tourism environment, promote the growth of domestic tourism, improve living standards and quality of life, preserve the country’s ancient history, showcase its scenic landscapes, and promote its national culture and other attractions.

President Emomali Rahmon said Tajikistan has significant opportunities and resources to increase the number of tourists and stressed the importance of using them effectively.

Officials reported that 2.4 million foreign tourists visited Tajikistan in 2025.
