During the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister Akhmet Gurbanov has met with a delegation from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), led by Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia Arthur Erken, who praised Turkmenistan’s proactive and constructive approach to strengthening migration policies and its firm commitment to promoting orderly, safe, and legal migration.
The sides discussed ongoing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the IOM, The Caspian Post reports per Turkmen media.
Participants underscored the success of Turkmenistan’s partnerships with various international and regional organizations. They also highlighted the importance of Turkmenistan hosting the conference, which serves as a key forum for addressing critical issues faced by landlocked developing countries.
During the talks, Turkmenistan confirmed its dedication to continuing active participation in IOM-led projects and initiatives.
