Turkmenistan and Georgia have discussed integrating the capabilities of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport and Georgia's Port of Poti as part of efforts to strengthen transport connectivity between Central Asia and Europe.

The initiative was a key topic during talks between Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili in Tbilisi, The Caspian Post reports via Asman News.

The two leaders reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and reaffirmed the high level of mutual understanding between their countries. They placed particular emphasis on expanding trade, transport, logistics, and energy cooperation.

A major focus of the discussions was the development of an efficient Caspian Sea-Black Sea transport corridor, designed to connect Central Asia with European markets by enhancing regional connectivity and trade flows.

The presidents also explored opportunities to diversify exports of Turkmen energy resources by making greater use of Georgia's transit infrastructure, reinforcing the country's role as a strategic gateway to Europe.

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening long-term bilateral cooperation and advancing joint projects that support the strategic interests of both Turkmenistan and Georgia.
