Turkmen President Condoles With Sri Lanka Over Deadly Floods

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has sent heartfelt condolences to Sri Lanka’s President Anura Kumara Dissanayake following devastating floods and landslides caused by heavy rains and Tropical Cyclone Ditwah.

The disaster has left over 410 dead, hundreds missing, and widespread destruction, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

Berdimuhamedov expressed deep sympathy and support to the victims’ families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured. The Sri Lankan government declared a state of emergency and called for international assistance.

Earlier, the Turkmen president also extended condolences to the King of Thailand and the President of Indonesia, as all three countries faced unprecedented cyclones and floods, claiming more than 1,300 lives across the region.
