Turkmen President Extends Warm Wishes to France on Bastille Day

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has extended warm congratulations to French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on the occasion of Bastille Day, France’s National Day, celebrated on July 14.

In his official message, President Berdimuhamedov emphasized the positive dynamics in bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and France, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.

"In recent times, relations between Turkmenistan and the French Republic have gained new momentum. We advocate for the further expansion of effective interstate cooperation," the statement read.

The Turkmen leader wished President Macron good health and happiness and conveyed his best wishes for peace, prosperity, and continued progress to the people of France.

Bastille Day marks a pivotal moment in French history-the storming of the Bastille fortress on July 14, 1789, which became a symbol of the French Revolution and the fight against absolutism. The date has been officially celebrated as France’s National Day since 1880.

Each year, the holiday is observed with nationwide festivities, military parades, and public events that celebrate the values of liberty, equality, and fraternity. The highlight of the celebrations is the grand military parade held along the Champs-Élysées in Paris, attended by thousands of spectators and dignitaries.
