The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Türkiye has hosted a prominent conference titled “Turkmenistan’s Independence: Prospects for Developing Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye in the Energy, Trade, and Economic Spheres” at the Presidential Library within the Turkish Presidential Palace Complex.
The event marked the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence and highlighted the growing partnership between the two nations, The Caspian Post informs via Turkmen media.
The conference attracted a wide range of participants, including senior officials from Turkish ministries and government bodies, foreign diplomats, representatives from international and socio-political organizations, think tanks, academics, creative professionals, members of the Turkmen diaspora, students, and media personnel.
Attendees received an extensive overview of Turkmenistan’s development achievements across multiple sectors since gaining independence. Particular attention was given to Turkmenistan’s upcoming International Forum in Ashgabat this December, which will commemorate the International Year of Peace and Trust alongside the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality.
Speakers praised Turkmenistan’s commitment to economic reforms, openness to international cooperation, and readiness to expand partnerships across various industries. The historic and cultural ties between Turkmenistan and Türkiye were highlighted as a strong basis for enhancing bilateral cooperation, especially in energy, trade, and economic development.
The event also featured a photo exhibition and video presentation showcasing Turkmenistan’s milestones since independence. The conference concluded with a reception serving traditional Turkmen cuisine, symbolizing the country’s rich hospitality traditions.
