Turkmenistan, European Commission Discuss Key EU–Central Asia Events

Turkmenistan’s Ambassador, Sapar Palvanov, met with Peteris Ustubs, Director for International Partnerships for Asia and the Pacific at the European Commission, at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Brussels.

During the meeting, the parties discussed upcoming EU-Central Asia events, including the ministerial meeting in Luxembourg, forums in Tashkent, and the planned EU-Turkmenistan Business Forum in Ashgabat in 2026, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening ties in all areas - transport, energy, digital technologies, and people-to-people exchanges - and reaffirmed the need to maintain high-level contacts.

Turkmenistan actively cooperates with the European Union and Central Asian countries within the framework of various regional programs, including transport corridors, energy projects, and digital transformation initiatives.
