Transit of oil from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan through Baku, Azerbaijan, has exceeded 680,000 tons in the first two months of 2026, underscoring the growing importance of regional energy corridors.

A total of 686,400 tons of oil from the two countries were transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline in January-February, accounting for 16.9% of the pipeline’s total throughput, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

Overall, more than 4 million tons of crude oil were pumped through the strategic pipeline during the same period.

Stretching 1,768 kilometers, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline serves as a vital energy artery linking the Caspian region to global markets. It begins in Baku, passes through Georgia, and reaches the Turkish port of Ceyhan in the Mediterranean Sea.
