Turkmenistan, Italy Strengthen Ties Ahead of Major Cultural and Diplomatic Events

Turkmenistan and Italy are actively advancing their bilateral relations in preparation for two major upcoming events.

A meeting between Turkmen Ambassador to Rome, Toyli Komekov, and Edmondo Cirielli, Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, marked a significant step in organizing a state visit and a large-scale archaeological exhibition, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

During the talks, both sides discussed strengthening political-diplomatic and trade-economic ties, as well as deepening dialogue in the cultural and humanitarian spheres, aiming to elevate the partnership to a new level.

Special attention was given to the preparation of an exhibition of unique Turkmen artifacts at the renowned Capitoline Museum in Rome. The exhibition will showcase priceless discoveries from the ancient civilizations of Margiana and Nisa. Highlights include artifacts unearthed during joint Turkmen-Italian archaeological expeditions, which over the years have revealed the rich heritage of Turkmenistan to the world.

This exhibition represents the culmination of long-term collaboration and is set to become one of the most significant cultural events of the year, as previously reported.

Another key topic of the meeting was the organization of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Italy, scheduled for this year.
