Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov presented a report on macroeconomic indicators for January-May 2025.
According to the data presented, the country's gross domestic product increased by 6,3 percent during the reporting period compared to the same period last year, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.
The highest growth rates were recorded in the transport and communications sector - 10,8 percent, trade - 9,9 percent and services - 8,6 percent. Industry showed growth of 0,8 percent, construction - 4,7 percent, agriculture - 4 percent.
The total volume of manufactured products in the country increased by 9,7 percent compared to January-May 2024. Production indicators in all sectors of the economy show positive dynamics.
Retail turnover for the first five months of this year exceeded the figures for the same period in 2024 by 12,5 percent, foreign trade turnover by 5,4 percent. The revenue side of the state budget was executed at the level of 101,2 percent, the expenditure side - 97,6 percent.
Salaries in large and medium-sized enterprises in the country have increased by 11,4 percent compared to the same period last year. Salaries, pensions, state benefits and student stipends are paid on time.
The volume of capital investments utilized from all sources of financing increased by 16,3 percent compared to the same period in 2024. The meeting also heard a report on the progress of the National Rural Program.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of taking appropriate measures to ensure sustainable economic development and maintain the established GDP growth rates until the end of the year. The Deputy Prime Minister was instructed to ensure strict control over the implementation of the adopted state development programs of the country.
