Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmed Gurbanov has met with outgoing Thai Ambassador Apirat Sugondhabhirom to review the current state of the Turkmenistan-Thailand relations, highlighting cooperation in political, economic, and cultural spheres.
Discussions included strengthening the legal framework governing cooperation between the two countries, The Caspian Post reports per Turkmen media.
The diplomats highlighted the effective collaboration of Turkmenistan and Thailand within international organizations, notably the United Nations. The Turkmen side particularly acknowledged Thailand’s contribution to preparations for the upcoming Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, scheduled to take place soon in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
Additionally, the parties exchanged views on prospects for enhancing cultural and humanitarian ties, with the Thai delegation expressing interest in fostering cooperation between universities of the two countries.
Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to Sugondhabhirom for his active role in advancing the friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Thailand.
