Turkmenistan to Showcase Azerbaijani Composer's Works

Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibayli’s iconic works will be showcased in Turkmenistan as part of a major cultural week set for December 6-12, 2025.

The Main Drama Theatre named after Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashi in Ashgabat will stage a performance based on Hajibayli’s celebrated operetta “Husband and Wife”, written in 1910. The show will feature simultaneous translation into English and Russian, The Caspian Post informs via local media.

Meanwhile, the Russian Drama Theatre named after A.S. Pushkin will host a traditional screening of the timeless classic “Arshin Mal Alan”, another famous operetta by the composer from 1913.

Turkmen audiences will have the chance to experience these masterpieces as part of a cultural program highlighting the rich musical heritage of Azerbaijan.
