World Leaders Send Warm Birthday Greetings to Turkmen President Amid Growing Diplomatic Ties

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has received birthday congratulations from a wide range of global leaders, in messages that not only conveyed personal well-wishes but also reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s growing stature on the international stage.

Heads of state and government from Russia, China, Türkiye, South Korea, and Central Asian nations emphasized the importance of their bilateral ties with Ashgabat and praised President Berdimuhamedov’s role in strengthening cooperation across key sectors - from energy and diplomacy to regional security and cultural exchange.

Russian President Vladimir Putin described Turkmenistan-Russia relations as a deep strategic partnership, crediting Berdimuhamedov for his personal contribution to its development. He expressed confidence that continued collaboration would benefit both peoples and support security and stability in Central Asia and the Caspian region.

Putin’s sentiments were echoed by other top Russian officials. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin reaffirmed Moscow’s commitment to expanding cooperation, while Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev described bilateral ties as a solid foundation for jointly addressing global challenges. Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko praised the Turkmen leader’s contributions to strengthening inter-parliamentary relations.

From Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping recalled his recent talks with Berdimuhamedov, during which they reached a broad consensus on advancing ties. Xi expressed readiness to build a “Community of Shared Future” between the two nations for the benefit of both peoples.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed his Turkmen counterpart warmly as “Dear Brother,” celebrating the countries’ shared cultural and historical roots. He expressed confidence in the deepening of both bilateral and multilateral relations, especially within the Organization of Turkic States.

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung referred to Turkmenistan as a key partner in Central Asia. Highlighting the expansion of relations since 2008, he expressed hope for greater opportunities for Korean companies to contribute to Turkmenistan’s economy and voiced his anticipation for a personal meeting during the 2026 Korea-Central Asia Summit.

Leaders across the Central Asian region also offered congratulations. Tajik President Emomali Rahmon emphasized the steady growth of bilateral ties, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov praised cooperation rooted in mutual trust, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev described the relationship as one of strategic cooperation based on goodwill.

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko also noted their appreciation for friendly relations with Turkmenistan and voiced hope for continued collaboration.

In every message, world leaders extended warm wishes for President Berdimuhamedov’s health, success, and effective leadership, along with continued peace and prosperity for the people of Turkmenistan.
