A special screening of the film “Taghiyev: Oil” took place at the renowned Panoramafilm cinema in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The event brought together the Ministers of Culture of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan, along with the heads of national film agencies and members of the public, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
Guests were informed that the film was produced by the Baku Media Center with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Culture, and the Cinema Agency. “Taghiyev: Oil” is the first part of a multi-episode project titled “Taghiyev,” dedicated to the life and legacy of the famous Azerbaijani industrialist and philanthropist.
The film also sheds light on pivotal historical developments in Baku and other regions of Azerbaijan during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The project’s main producer is Arzu Aliyeva, with Orman Aliyev serving as producer. Directed by Zaur Gasimli, the screenplay was written by Ismayil Iman, Asif Isgandarli, and Zaur Gasimli. Key contributors include cinematographer Vladimir Artemyev, production designer Sabuhi Atababayev, costume designer Vusal Rahim, and composer Etibar Asadli.
The cast features prominent talents such as People's Artist Parviz Mammadrzayev in the role of Taghiyev, along with Gurban Ismayilov, and Honored Artists Rasim Jafar, Elshan Rustamov, and Natavan Hajiyeva, who portray various historical figures.
It was highlighted that the “Taghiyev” films have topped cinema ratings, earned numerous awards, and are currently being considered for international distribution, including across Central Asia.
The screening concluded with an enthusiastic reception, drawing strong interest and extended applause from the audience.
