Belarus Offers Uzbekistan Help in Building Nuclear Power Plant

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has offered Uzbek authorities the assistance of Belarusian specialists in constructing a nuclear power plant.

Lukashenko made the offer during a meeting with Rakhmatulla Nazarov, Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Belarus, in Minsk, The Caspian Post reports via Belarusian media.

“We are aware of your interest in our specialists in nuclear power plant construction. We have mastered these competencies thanks to Russia. Together with the Russians, we work worldwide wherever nuclear power units are being built,” Lukashenko said. “If this suits you, come at any time you need. Your representatives can meet with our specialists to discuss everything. We will assist in the construction of your nuclear power plant and provide all possible support.”

Preparations are currently underway in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh Region for the nuclear power plant project, which is planned in cooperation with a Russian corporation.
